Alan Wake 2 Minimum Specs are scary!

Share the Story:

Remedy have just released the minimum and recommended specs for Alan Wake II. I think some Copium is needed for the majority of the PC market and, by proxy, the console market as Remedy are first and foremost a PC developer. As we saw with Control prior, the Ray Tracing aspect of their engine is exceptional and interwoven with Nvidia’s own branding of Ray Tracing with its RTX hardware. With the 4000 range being front and center means we see similar demands to the latest Cyberpunk 2077 that is almost exactly the same scenario.

Their own in-house engine, technology pushing RT integration, designed around the latest DLSS 3.5 Ray reconstruction technology we can see, as we saw with the Starfield AMD specs, a bit of marketing on the slides for Nvidia’s latest cards. The CPU demands for example are far more realistic across all modes, the element that is putting the willies up gamers is the GPU. Even at Medium settings 60fps (which I am sure are not as bad as many will think), non Ray Tracing mode appears incredibly demanding. Requiring a 960×540 base resolution via DLSS2 Performance on an RTX3070, which is realistically above 90% of the PC market, so consoles are going to be the potential biggest market for this latest game. And those wanted bleeding edge technology may have to dip deep into their pockets or wait and see how this all turns out in my In-depth Technical review of PC and consoles.

What do you think of the specs, leave your comments below?
